Network Engineer

Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 13th globally. It is also placed 1st amongst the world’s best young universities. The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at NTU is a national science Research Centre of Excellence. Its mission is to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, toward safer and more sustainable societies.

The EOS Technical Office (TO) hosts a linux based computational facility as well as several servers hosting EOS website, ftp servers, various internal applications and scientific data processing tasks and invite applications for a Network Engineer.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Overall responsibility of network data archival, management and coordination with field crew for up-keeping of the networks
Keep tab of all networked/telemetered station data flow and assure that any faulty communication or station is immediately detected
Coordinate with field crew so that they are guided to identify nature of problem and that field stations are repaired/serviced efficiently

Requirements: 

Masters in Electronic Engineering/ Physical Science. Ph.D. is desirable
Experience in handling and processing data and signal processing
Good interpersonal communication skill as this role will require communication with international collaborators
Must be a team player
