The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at NTU is a national science Research Centre of Excellence. Its mission is to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, toward safer and more sustainable societies. We seek a qualified candidate to assist in geological field work overseas and in GIS-based processing of data at NTU with the following job responsibilities:
- Assist with surveying (by total station and/or other means), UAV drone flying, sample collection, sample processing, digging, carrying of equipment, snorkeling (scuba diving is NOT expected), working in paleoseismic trenches and / or any other similar tasks
- Work with overseas collaborators to arrange logistics for field work, to procure necessary field equipment, and to handle administrative requirements associated with field work.
- Conduct GIS-based analysis of data collected in the field and perform rigorous data analysis and interpretation, toward the preparation of a scientific report or paper.
- Participate in the preparation of presentations for conferences or manuscripts for publication.
