Visual Communication of Science
Newspapers, public presentations, printed manuscripts, and online resources are a few of the media used in communicating science in the 21st century. Visual communication is a more effective way of conveying information to the non-scientific community in a concise manner.
The Observatory has a Science Illustrator who distills scientific information and translates them into maps and graphics. We also have a team of artists who contribute to the EOS Knowledge Capsules, which are short videos that summarize the ongoing research conducted by the EOS scientists. In addition, EOS has also conducted media briefings that relay important information about Earth hazards to the public.
