Jason Scott HERRIN


Dr. Jason Herrin is an igneous petrologist and chemical microanalyst involved in volcano research and the study of meteorites and asteroid impacts on Earth. He specializes in the utilization of in situ solid state analytical techniques such as electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), laser ablation inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD).  He manages the Electron Probe MicroAnalysis facility, which is shared between the Earth Observatory of Singapore and the Facility for Analysis, Characterisation, Testing, and Simulation.
