I joined the Earth Observatory in 2013 and I am currently working on GPGPU (General Purpose Graphic Processing Unit) using CUDA architecture developed by Nvidia. Most of the softwares that exist today are strictly serial in execution, which essentially means softwares to be run on a single computer having single CPU (central processing unit). Using GPGPU, the problem can be solved concurrently by breaking it into independent discrete parts and thus making the software run faster. My research interests include Parallel programming, Heterogeneous computing, and Automatic parallelization of code.
