Offset river channels on the Fuyun Fault, China

The Fuyun fault, in north-western China, is remarkably well preserved in the landscape thanks to minimal erosion in the region. It displays clear offset river channels that EOS researchers used to constrain the characteristic slip recurrence of big earthquakes (Klinger, Etchebes et al, 2011)
