Research Assistant / Associate - Geochemistry

The Earth Observatory in Singapore (EOS) at NTU Singapore is a national science Research Center of Excellence. Its mission is to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, toward safer and more sustainable societies.

We invite applicants for the position of Research Associate (Field Support Scientist) with the following responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Participate in the research project to examine stable isotopes of precipitation in Southeast Asia;
Collect rain samples at NTU rain stations, and run water analyzer;
Order consumables and spare parts;
Coordinate with our collaborators about rain collection at overseas precipitation stations
Do sample login and analytical data compilation and statistical analysis;
Help to use on-line databases (e.g., from NOAA or UCAR) for oceanic or atmospheric reanalysis

Requirements: 

A Bachelor/Master degree in chemistry, earth sciences or environmental sciences;
Some basic knowledge of analytical chemistry, stable isotope geochemistry and atmospheric sciences is preferred but not required
Some experience with statistical analysis of geochemical data
Experience with common programming languages is preferred but not required
Good communication skills in English
Willing to learn new things
