The aim of the Hydroclimatology group is to understand temporal and spatial structure of rainfall in Singapore and surrounding regions for a wide range of scales, and to study their impact on urban hydrology under changing climate conditions. The lab is currently involved in developing statistical downscaling and disaggregation tools for Singapore by assimilating information from such sources as climate models, remotely sensed observations and dense network of rain gauges.

Latest Projects

This project aims to develop a combined downscaling and disaggregation methodology for building linkages between regional climate model output and high-resolution local weather data, and examining related uncertainties and complexities.
