Trees at Acid Lake, Yellowstone National Park

These dead trees located near Acid Lake in Yellowstone National Park have been affected by the pools of water with high acid levels. The chemical-emitting hydrothermal vents under the surface of the lake as well as microorganisms have broken down the surrounding rock, adding sulphuric acid into the pools. Healthier trees can be seen further in the distance.
