Waterfront At Palu City, Post-Tsunami

Waterfront At Palu City, Post-Tsunami

At the waterfront of Palu city, a tree is seen partially submerged in the water, which had risen about 1 to 1.5 metres after the post-earthquake tsunami in September 2018. Due to co-seismic subsidence (sinking of land) that affected much of the waterfront, the sea wall as seen on the left of the photograph could not mitigate the waves that arrived.
