Profile

Abhishek Kurmi is a PhD student at the National Institute of Education (NIE) and the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). His research focuses on investigating the mechanisms linking sand mining to riverbank collapse in the Mekong Delta, under the supervision of Prof. Edward Park.

Abhishek holds an M.Tech in Water Resources Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, where he developed an analytical approach to characterizing flow in unconfined aquifers with dual permeability. For this work, he received the Best Paper Award at the International Groundwater Conference. He was awarded the GATE Scholarship during his M.Tech studies and currently holds the NTU Research Scholarship.
