Profile

Jiachun Huang is a PhD student at the National Institute of Education (NIE) and Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Her research focuses on reconstructing paleo-flooding in the Malaysian Peninsula under Prof. Edward Park and Prof Xianfeng Wang's supervision. This study aims to enhance the understanding of long-term flood patterns and their implications for current and future flood risks in the region. 

Jiachun graduated from Jinan University, China, in 2018 with a Bachelor of Management in Tourism Planning and Landscape Design, and holds an M.Sc. in Urban Environmental Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand (2021). The interdisciplinary background inspires her to conduct insightful research at the intersection of environmental processes and human systems.
Her research interests include climate change mitigation and adaptation, hydro-ecological modeling, and ecological conservation and restoration.
