Overview

Trained as a field geologist, my research bridges earthquake and climate science. My interests lie in using geology to extend the modern record back in time, in order to study past changes in sea level and solid earth deformation due to tectonic and isostatic processes. A longer record of these changes in the past gives us better context in which to understand present-day change and forecast future events.

You can read more about my group’s research here:
Rising Seas and Earthquakes on the Sunda Shelf
Paleoseismology and Paleogeodesy of the Manila Trench off Luzon
Paleoseismology and Paleogeodesy of the Sumatran Subduction Zone

I currently seek outstanding, motivated PhD students and postdoctoral scholars who are interested in any of these lines of research. If this describes you, please e-mail me with your CV, a brief description of how you envision fitting into my research group, and some thoughts on why the topic(s) interest you. Full funding is available for qualified candidates.
